Dancing with the Stars is nearly coming to an end and we saw Gilles Marini, Melissa Rycroft and Shawn Johnson face-off last night in part one of the season eight finale. According to tvguide.com, the three last contestants showed off their much-anticipated freestyles.

The trio also had to take part in the Paso Doble face off, with all three dancing to the same music. First up it was Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas and Bruno had to tell Shawn to extend her arms. They finished with a score of 28. Next up was Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani.

Carrie Ann invaded Melissa and Tony’s rehearsal and told Melissa she had a lack of killer instinct. They ended up on a score of 29. Then it was Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke’s turn to take to the dance floor. Len says it wasn’t hectic and Carrie Ann called it perfection. Their score was 30.

Finally we came to the freestyle part. Shawn and Mark chose fun and lively, with just enough flips to make an impact and scored 30. Next it was Melissa and Tony. It was full of overused dance moves and they only scored 27. Finally we saw Gilles and Cheryl with their freestyle. There was too much lifting and they scored 28.
