Wayman Tisdale’s family have now started to talk about the death of the former Oklahoma basketball standout and jazz musician. Tisdale’s brother said on Monday that, “The nation has lost a great man.” All three of his brothers have decided to speak out for the first time since his death.

Wayman Tisdale’s family talk about his death

Wayman Tisdale died on Friday after losing his two-year battle with cancer he was just 44. Weldon Tisdale said, “It has eased the pain and some of the stress to hear the positive reports continually expressed about Wayman’s life.”

USA Today reports that a memorial service for Wayman Tisdale will take place this Thursday at the BOK Center in downtown Tulsa. A public viewing will take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday; this is to be held at the Friendship Baptist Church.

    I am a University of Kansas graduate and will always fondly rememebr the KU-OU rivalry. He was an amazing athlete and an amazing person as well. It is with a heavy heart that I send my condolences to his wife and family. I could not imagine losing my husband and can never know her pain. May GOD show him andhis fmaily blessed mercey.
