Last night was the performance night for the two finalists on “American Idol” and I think that the tensions were certainly mounting for both Kris Allen and Adam Lambert. According to foxesonidol.com, the show opened with clips of the two singers, with them each saying that they’re the next Idol.
It is then announced that each guy will sing three songs including a song co-written by Kara, a song choice from co-creator Simon Fuller and a favorite from the season. Adam chose “Mad World” for his favorite and Simon thought that was his best performance.
Kris picked “Ain’t No Sunshine” as his favorite, and Randy described it as his best performance ever. For the second song which was Simon Fuller’s choice, Adam sung “A Change is Gonna Come.” Simon’s choice for Kris was Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On.” Both sang beautifully.
Finally, both contestants have to sing this year’s sing “No Boundaries.” Adam was fantastic and got great comments from the judges. Next up was Kris. Simon Cowell said he preferred “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and Paula said that Kris deserves to be where he is. Well done to both finalists.
