American Idol and Pretty Flowers: Steve Martin, Michael Sarver, Megan Joy

Last night was the “American Idol” finale and it seems it was a jammed packed night. There were many stars that graced the stage to perform. As we have already said in an earlier post today, we saw Lionel Richie sing “Hello” with Danny Gokey.
Then we have had Cyndi Lauper sing and we’ve even seen bikini girl come on stage and sing. But another performance that must have stood out was the one with Steve Martin, Megan Joy and Michael Sarver.
Michael Sarver and Megan Joy sang “Pretty Flowers” whilst Steve Martin was playing the banjo. The song “Pretty Flowers” comes from Steve Martin’s new album “The Crow.” If you didn’t see it you have a chance now as we have the video below.

Oh my gosh – Steve you are such a talent! Since I saw Idol final aired in Australia today I have been playing your “Flower” song over and over and over again – the melody is absolutely beautiful and the words are really gorgeous, down-to-earth and so true. Megan & Michael – great singers. Music and comedy make life worth living
Loved the melody and the words. I think Michael did a great job but Megan wasn’t the right person to sing this song.

That song wasn’t even over yet and I was downloading it on iTunes. Steve Martin is quite the talented guy. I had no idea!

i love the song. i’m crazy about it. i watched the finale here in Nigeria yesterday and i couldn’t help but love the song.
You should hear it with Dolly Parton and Vince Gill singing it! Beautiful. I will be getting this CD.
