Terminator 5: sequel to Salvation
Well we’ve already done an earlier post on the movie Terminator Salvation,” and now we hear there is going to be a sequel to that movie. According to slashfilm.com, the movie “Terminator Salvation” was set up to be the first in a new trilogy of Terminator movies.

And it is also said that the ending of the new movie may divide audiences. We may even see T2 star Robert Patrick back for a cameo role in the next film. It has also been said that “Terminator 5” will be set in a pre-judgement day 2011.

The movie storyline may even follow John Connor as he travels back in time, so there may be transports and hunter killers and everything arriving in our time and Connor fighting back with conventional military warfare. How awesome. The film is said to have a 2011 release date.

Wow that’s just a terrible idea. Why go back?! I thought the whole point of this new trilogy was to go forward. To show John’s war against the machines in the future. To show how John and Kyles destinies play out together. To show Kyle sacrifice to go back in time. And to show how John wins the war. Why the hell would they waste the next movie going back. There is so much to do from where they left off in Salvation. John just finally met his father. I don’t get why we would go back to 2011. I really enjoyed Salvation but that sounds like it would totally ruin the new series. The sequel should focus on John finally taking control of the resistance and his growing relationship with Kyle. They should be setting up the seeds for why Kyle goes back in time. Have John give Kyle his Moms picture and all that. They should introduce that skynet is experimenting with time travel. But they definitely shouldn’t have John go back to 2011. It really blows me away how anyone could think that would be a good idea.

  2. filmguy says:

Also 2011 isn’t pre-judgement day. Judgement day was in 2004 as seen in Terminator 3. So why the hell would John go to 2011? If anyone with creative control happens to read this DON’T DO THAT

  3. mobius10880 says:

Well as much as I would love to see another terminator movie after Salvation which was a good addition to the already trilogy, I think it should be more about sending Kyle Reese back to protect his mother so they would have a full circle type thing. If Hollywood has John Connor go back in time and has HK’s go back as well, it will mean they have no idea about the Terminator “Rules” No metal can go through HK’s would have to be incased in MAJOR bio “stuff” to make it through, and if they start send HK’s back it makes no sense because then why didnt SkyNet just send an HK to begin with instead of a single Terminator. DUH. Please dont let them kill the Terminator story, they did so very well with Salvation, even down to the Scar on John’s face at the beginning of T-2 and that you get to see how he got it.

  4. I loved it. I thought it did justice to the series, and I now cannot wait for the following films

  5. Bloody Blood Clot says:

This talk might be too premature. T4 isn’t doing as well as expected (good but not great) & opened behind Night at Museum 2. Also, critics have ripped it apart, so not sure Bale would want to go back to McG’s Terminator world, nor might Warner Bros. want McG back. It actually might make sense to shoot the movie just ‘prior’ to Judgement Day, with just a few flashes of Future War action (to wrap up the future story-line) but create a new one, with Robert Partic as a scientist or whatever – why? Budget? T4 cost $200 mill to make but a movie set closer to our time won’t be as expensive. That’s if they bother making one. They could just take the money and run.

  6. markus says:

salvation rocked i don’t care what people say lets hope T5 will be just as good youclash.com

  7. Alan says:

Please continue the trilogy with the war. All the years and movies in the past has set us up to this point. I believe the audience wants to learn about the war and to see if john and the resistance can defeat the machines and skynet. Maybe include an scene where john sends Kyle back after the relationship is built between them. We know what happens with kyle. After Kyle is sent through the time warp continue the movie with the war.

  8. annie says:

I like what I have just read! That would be an awesome cameo! They would of course need to do another Arnold bit or get him to have a major part in it since he was in both 2 and 3.

  9. Mooninites says:

they arent doing this. the movie is slated to be done in 2011. the site got it wrong… THE ARE OBVIOUSLY HK’S IN DISGUISE FROM THE FUTURE TRYING TO CONFUSE US TO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE SO WE ARENT INFORMED

  10. terminandy says:

I agree for most of the arguments with ‘filmguy’.
We need to see more things that explain stuf we saw in te first 3 movies.
We do not need machines going back in time.
Only robots with living tissue and humans.
T4 was great (some thing could be better, but I’m analysing it too much).
Stay in course/stay on track with the previous movies. If the moviemakers do so, the saga can continue wothout failing.

If they need someone to evaluate the new story or deliver ideas: they can contact me. (but that will be a dream, but one never knows…)

  11. terminandy says:

    by the way:
    an example:
the also have to show in T5 how they send back the T8OO an Kyle Reese and how they send back the ther terminators and captured T800 and reprogrammed him as the T800 as seen in T2…

  12. calinutz says:

T5 was very good altogether, but I wonder how the hell in the end, in the middle of skynet’s center, there is only 1 terminator… Arnold.
Seems like Skynet had big trouble building their terminators…
I was expecting 10 badass terminators to say the least. That was a T-800 factory… a place where they built the terminators… and only one was ready? The others were in vacation?
    Pretty silly.
Besides that aspect, the movie was great.
    About T5-6…
time travel should not be discovered by skynet until the last minutes of T6, or it will ruin the entire Terminator Universe.
The logic of the time travel was already shaking all the epic of the movie, so don’t push it. Use it as little as you can.
Consider that if skynet has the power to travel in time and uses it, it could send a terminator in every second of the second trilogy to say the least. It would be very likely that if skynet knows it is in danger, it will send a lot more terminators back in time… not just one/movie.
In my opinion, time travel should be used right after skynet is defeated. Something like… in the last second before skynet is destroyed it sends Arnold from a time travel facility. Skynet should have built more than one facilities like that and all get destroyed but a few. And the last of the robots send themselves to the past to prevent the destruction from happening
Also in T6 Connor should destroy Skynet’s core and humans start the fight against the remaining operative robots that want to rebuild skynet

  13. calinutz says:

The T5 was a great success by my standards. Bringing in 2 new great characters was a great ideea. The little boy Star reminds me of MadMax, and that was great. Also the Marcus character was perfect, and I would love to see more of him in the sequels. Think about it… everything is possible. They could find him a new heart… even a mechanical one from another T-800… afterall… not the heart makes T-800 killers. And Marcus could help Connor with his robotic strength to defeat skynet forever.
Also great similarity with the War of the worlds movie… You probably noticed the superb sound made by the huge robot at the gas station. Very similar to the sound made by the tripods from War of the worlds

  14. Salvation was crap says:

this movie was better than the 3rd but not better than 1 and 2. u lot chat a whole lot of crap i cant believe it. its funny reading your pathetic messages acting like its a true life event.now all im looking forward to is Transformers: Revenge of the fallen. yay bring it on.

  15. terminandy says:

    Dear ‘Salvation is crap’
Some people like comic books, others were very into the Matrix-saga. Some of us like the story of Terminator. And yeah, we are sometimes analising it. But it does not mean that we don’t like other things and don’t have a life.
What I consider to be strange is that someone who laughs at others with their ‘hobby’, very much needs to spend time on the net to do so and afterwards is himself a big fan of robots that can turn into a car.
But I do wish you to have fun with your Transformer movies. Enjoy it.
    greets

  16. BILLY NOBLES says:

I JUST WANT TO SAY- TERMINATOR 3 NEVER HAPPENED. IGNORE TERMINATOR 3

  17. BILLY NOBLES says:

    THAT WAS DIRECTED TOWARDS FILMGUY

  18. Robot Monger says:

I loved Terminator Salvation and I feel superior to all those who poo-poo it! I expect no 5 will show humans fighting amongst themselves while trying to make deals with Skynet, and as a consequence becoming increasingly weakened. The Resistance will become sidelined until John Connor can demonstrate the inhumanity of the Skynet collaboration where Skynet promises to allow humans to exist in the territory they still hold as long as they live in a “police state” and obey authority without question. And the authority who Skynet manage to place into power can be supported by the T800s. That way there can be a commentary on the war on terrorism that Bush instigated and the kind of society that could produce if the McCain and Palin and been elected.

  19. this movie was better than the 3rd but not better than 1 and 2. u lot chat a whole lot of crap i cant believe it. its funny reading your pathetic messages acting like its a true life event.now all im looking forward to is Transformers: Revenge of the fallen. yay bring it on.

  20. ryanablue says:

agree with filmguy..taht sounds like a stupid ass idea for the next movie. we all wanna see how kyle grew up and how john takes lead of the resistance and shows everyone how to kill terminators. AND show john sending arnold back in time to save himself and all that…not some pointless movie about john himself going back to 2011? what the hell

  21. RobSmoove says:

Ok please for all that I hold true and dear . . . Do NOT go back into the past. This movie took a great leap from 04 to ‘18 and I really enjoyed it. I don’t know what the critics are griping about. I watched it again today and it was just as good as the first time. Can’t wait for T5!!! ;)

  22. bob becker says:

IF YOU HAVE ANY CREATIVE CONTROL WHATSOEVER

    please

-Do Not bring the future war back in time
    -Do Not make a post-apocalypse 2011
-Do Not try to make any catchy or new weird twist story lines
    -Stay true to Terminator mythology.
-Keep the future as we know it, as featured in the first two Terminator films, some of the games, such as Terminator: Dawn Of Fate, and even the show Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
-Do Not ruin what Terminator fans know of as the Future War. Terminator Salvation tampered with it, however it still worked for the most part, but that was too close.

    Thank you for your time.
If I know one thing, its what Terminator fans want as well as do not want. Anyone who supports what I just read as a possible storyline who is a true Terminator fan will not enjoy that.

  23. Alex says:

I think the termionator series needs to eventually turn into the MAtrix series. It almost make perfect sense.

  24. von says:

ok first of all i am a huge fan all four existig films and i know what i want next. here’s what needs to happen in T5 and 6.
    T5-
Skynet creates plasma weapons, resistance changes tactics to fighting at night only, etc. basically let the technology increase to where the war scenes look like the ones in the opening of the first two films. also, we need to see the terminators infiltrate the resistance camps. perhaps skynet would make a terminator that looks like Marcus (but is fully machine)? and the resistance needs to start gaining the upper hand in the war. because Reese said in T1 “we won”

T6- much like Star Wars 6, there will be an epic “last stand” by skynet and john and a team of soldiers will invade skynet central and blow it up. then at the last second, skynet sends its arnold and T1000 back to 1984 and 1994, and John will send back Kyle and the reprogrammed Arnold,(maybe reprogrammed arnold and T1 arnold coul fight before they are sent back in time?) setting up T1 and T2, which everyone after seeing T6 will go home and watch to see the trilogy become full circle.

    now wouldn’t that be epic?

  25. von says:

it’s the same idea as anakin becoming darth vader in Star Wars 3. everything has to come full circle

  26. granny says:

to be fair, i think the leap was to big from 04 to 18, so much missed…
salvation was rushed in my opinion, it just did’nt seem as exciting and thrilling as 1 and 2 the terminators were not as brutal as they were previously.
and ? not enough of them.
if anything, they should of started from rufly where they left off in terminator 3…however having different characters would make that strange.

  27. loo says:

What ever happens I HOPE and PRAY that McG does NOT direct another terminator movie. He sucks! T4 was a disappointment…yea OK visually stunning…very loud…lots of explosions…and yes I’m a huge fan of the terminator series…but Keep McG AWAY…please find a different director…show us something new…stop with the throwback lines and camer angles…they seemed to minimize John Connor’s importance in this move…the story spent far more time on Marcus Wright and developing his character..and he was new and interesting…only to kill him off..

  28. Lelievre says:

Why should Terminator 3 should be forgeted:

T-800 have a stupid comportement in all the movie.

In the gas station, he do everything to be reconized and to be denounce by the clerk and in the same time to be localized by the T-X.

He Drive to fast. Take risk to be localize by the police.

Show to much emotion for a Cyborg. When he dont know if he kill John or save him.

And there his to much of impossible thing that cannot hapen or be Mecanicly or physicly explained. Like:

When T-X his conrtoling 2003 Cars and trucks. (It’s possible for the T-X to shoot a signal to control cars but….to work, it take the cars to be equiped with Signal receivers and all the stuff it take to control a cars by remote control. Impossible

And also when T-800 re-plug his head in 2 second. It’s impossible because thre his to much wire and hydrolique cylinder that was damaged in the shot that he loose the head.

But in Terminator 1, Terminator 2 and Termniator 4

Every thing that hapen his possible to explain (Mecanic ot physic) or if not: it’s very well explained.

So has a great fan of T1-T2 and the new T4
I recommend that the T5 continue the developement in the futur (Kyle Reese have to be trained by John Conor because he is too young and his not good enough to be sent in 1984 now)

The resistance Have to win a other battle and find the other Facilitys where the Time machine his developed, and reprogram a T-800.

There his a lot to see that his suppose to follow T4

But they play with the time travel but there is alot of thing to worry about to not contradict the original Story.

Excuse my english ( I’m a French Quebec Guy)

  29. troublsum says:

Maybe going in to the past is a good idea. of course depending on the kind of plot. The machines could bring the war to the past and then John Connor and a lot of the resistance would have to also go to the past and prepare the military for there attack. like i said it would have to be a good plot to bring it to the past. other wise stay in the future

  30. In the next film they should have a bit of a plotline going a bit like this just to try and put it all together:

The resistance manage to smash skynets defence grid.

skynet panicks a bit and sends a whole load of terminators to counter attack them hoping to slow their advance(mostly T-800s skynet finished developing in T4). a long battle of this follows at the beginning.

Knowing that they would eventually beat it, skynet builds time displacement equipment and discovers how to time travel(It builds it all in a small base of its)

It sends a T-800 back in time to 1984

John Connor finds out about it and attacks the base taking control of it and sends kyle back in time to go after it.

so nothing else can go through they place charges all around and blow it up.

They find out that its just on of the few factories skynet built, and orders the resistence to target all the bases skynets using to learn time travel.

in the battle the terminators are winning and the resistance are forced to retreat. they manage to destroy a lot of their bases.

at the main skynet base, skynet has been studying mimetic poly-alloy and uses it to create a new terminator made out of it. The T-1000.

The resistance find a deactivated T-800 and take it back to their base and reprogrammes its CPU.

skynet retakes a time traveling base a resistance group captured and sends the
T-1000 back to 1994 (Sends two back in this film).

Connor arrives and sends the reprogrammed terminator back to protect him.
    END

this isnt much but this is what they need to be focusing on

  31. Terminator Salvation was alright, I wouldnt call it a five star film but it kicks its predecessor up the arse.

  32. Do you want my opinion? they ough to kick MCGs ass off the directors chair and bring in someone else who can fix the franchise all back up. even though i think that the effects and exploding scenes were top-noch, there were massive holes in the plotline of T4. Now MCG is planning a time travel back to pre judement day in T5!?

Someone pleaz stop that bastard! hez dragging the terminator down the hall kicking and screaming into his little world where everything is blown out of proportion from the other films!!!!

Wake up MCG and take the franchise out of the shit house, if i remember correctly from the T4 trailer, it said FORGET THE PAST.

    NO MORE TIME TRAVEL!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. WolfG Z says:

I agree wiv u there DarkKnight300, MCG should be focusing on those events in these upcoming T films. And anyway hoo cares abowt time travel anymore there was enough of that in ve first trilogy!!

    NOOOOO MORE TIME-TRAVEL BASTARD!!!

  34. 456 says:

Very good D.K.300, though yure notes are not that accurate I just think thats wot needs te be done, they would have to send two terminators back in one film if they are going to make just two more films!

    P.S i thought that T4 woz better than T3.

  35. Dustin Hansen says:

since 1984 we have all been hearing of this great post-apocolypic war between men and machines. Terminator Salvation showed Connor in the middle of that war using things he had learned from the past and from his mother. we have all been waiting to see this future war and the awesomeness it will bring. Salvation did that. it may not have done so well at the box office, but the film makers must put that beside the point and say “in order to make a successful franchise we need to keep moving forward and stay with a basic plot.” The basic Plot is the Terminator war. STAY IN THE FUTURE. let us see the end of the war. let us see John Connor as he has been prophesied in the original 3 and this one. let us see him take up the mantle of “Leader and Savior” if the filmakers want to make a franchise that will make people say “wow, that was a great story and wonderful ending” then stay in the future and stay with what people want to see. we’ve seen the past John Connor, let us see the John Connor we’ve all heard of and all been waiting for, let us see the connor who the whole franchise is about. stay in the future and finish this franchise off right.

  36. Joachim says:

Okay then first, the movies should continue forward into the war not back in time. We already have three movies and a tv show about time travel. Second off the second movie should end with Kyle going back in time and then the third one should conclude the war or at least introduce us to the t-1000s or something. Third of all someone posted earlier that Arnold should have a cameo appearance in the next movie cause he was in the 2nd and 3rd movies. Truthfully he was in the first 3 movies. Go watch the first one. He tries to kill Sarah. That’s why when she saw him in the hospital she freaked out.

  37. dobbie says:

You people who think that 2004 is when j-day was are idiots if you followed this movie at all then you would know that they are pretending like the third movie was never made… They liked more things from The Sarah Connor Chronicles than the third movie so we may see some connection there possibly, dont shoot down an idea until you get the chance to see it with your own eyes

  38. al s says:

Rise of the Machines was the “Pre-Judgement Day” event to me. The next movie needs to tie the events and fill the gaps to the 1984 Terminator where Skynet and Kyle Reese are sent back in time. Show how the technology to time travel came about, and how the Resistance managed to get their hands on it. Then wrap up the series with a 6th installment back into the future where Skynet is finally destroyed and the human race prevails!!!

  39. they have to work pretty dam hard if there gonna squeeze all that into the next 2 films, cos t4 was the beginning, true the origin of the t800 we saw, but that was all we could get out of it and nothing more. time travel should next along with t1000 origin and the making of laser rifles and a more darker atmosphere throughout the war like in the first 3.

yet they intend to give it another plotline of time travel

if they dont have enough money to make it so great, dont make it at all!

  40. they have to work pretty dam hard if there gonna squeeze all that into the next 2 films, cos t4 was the beginning, true the origin of the t800 we saw, but that was all we could get out of it and nothing more. time travel should B next along with t1000 origin and the making of laser rifles and a more darker atmosphere throughout the war like in the first 3.

  41. al s says:

After watching Terminator Salvation a few times on DVD; you can clearly feel the set up for contiunation of the series; Right down to the terminator scaring John Conner’s face, In termanator-2 Judgement Day The adult Conner was sporting that scar. Again the puropse of the next movie, (if made) is to bring it all together. I think they have no other choice but to dable with the time travel.

  42. JOSH says:

NO!! I wish somebody powerful would just ask me please “what can we do to (if we want to make another Terminator Movie) what can I as a director do? How will my story be? Listen. Enough!! We don’t need anymore surprises, because T3 already surprised us enough!! WE THE FANS KNOW WHAT THE STORY IS!! WE JUST NEED TO SEE IT VISUALLY!! To be honest I already have a plan I can make my own script, and still follow the story! What I would do is this!! (LOL my idea for the T5) The year is 2026. Skynet is developing new and special ways to destroy us. John Conner blew up the computer factory in San Fransisco after encountering the t-800 prototype. Which wasn’t at all very important considering the fact that the prototype failed. Kyle Reese has grown up, John Conner’s children had grown up. To develop into the most advance tech com unit! Now since we rushed to see the t-600’s and the unstoppable t-800, we cannot really show too much of the t-400s. But since t-800 was the prototype, SkyNet has to learn from its mistakes right? So we have learned that Marcus Wright has defeated the t-800. SkyNet needs something of more a human R&D project and to actually gives these cyborgs like a more serious control over them. Kinda like “The Terminator: Dawn of Fate game.” Now 2027 hits, we can actually see the more serious development the T-800 (we see how the skynet software for the T-800 was actually intended to travel back in time in T1. example the search and destroy tracker system when in T1 after the club shooting scene, when the Terminator was chasing Kylie and Sarah) That part I got ahead, but humans will be turned into a cyborg type thingy, and they will be simulated on the field by skynet. that when hit or killed they will just turn into liquid. (the future development of the T-1000 and TX) Lol see!! After this is all said and done, we will forget seeing T3 and just continue after T2. (because we were actually forced to continue with more Terminator Movies after the chip and the arm, and Cyberdyne and Dyson were all destoryed, but somehow things would eventually be surfaced and we will see that it relates to the first two films of the Terminator. I would def. at the end have skynet perfect cold fusion in order to have a successful time travel!! I would put Arnold in there as the finalized T-800 prototype (the same as the first Terminator in T1, actually the exact). Robert Patrick as the revived liquid simulated solders (200 cybernetic liquid simulated solders, not exactly terminators) Christian Bale as John Conner the leader of the resistance, Tech-Com, not as a solder though. Michael Biehn as Kyle Reese, being more protected so John Conner can save him to go back to 1984. (sort of like a secret weapon) I want everything to be as though as it was in the first terminator movie. Plus with Reese, in Salvation he was the prime target, so it will fall right into place, we will not alter no future!! I’am not a University of Pittsburgh student with a major in the sciences for nothing!!!

  43. al s says:

that would end up being a 6 hr movie. I’m telling you in Salvation there was just too many clues that showed connnections to the prior movies. keep it simple, tell the story

  44. Right! why dont I just give a clear, suggestive, decent plot for the last 2 terminator films, heres how it might go..

    T5

The film could start in 2029 as a massive resistance convoy with a large amount of vehicles. In one of the vehicles there will be a conversation between Connor and Kyle Reese filling in on what has happened between movies and talking about the recent infiltration attacks and the secret mission of capturing a T-800. Connor also mentions his mothers picture and tells Kyle its his task to save her to which Kyle is confused. Before Kyle can ask what Connor means an explosion erupts an A massive CGI battle ,that is long awaited , takes place with Connor capturing a T-800. A ship that Star and Reese are on is destroyed and they are presumed dead much to Connors horror. After the resistance have left an unconscious Kyle wakes up and is soon tracked by terminators and looks about to be killed before H (place holder name) saves him. He takes him to a secret base of survivoiurs separate from the resistance.

At the Base H introduces Kyle to the Professor (Robert Patrick ) who has developed 3 Time displacement devices (small in size) in an effort for H to send troops back to revert Judgement day. He explains that that each machine allows only 2 one way trips. The underground base is attacked by many terminators with one T-800 going back in time to 1984. Kyle realises what the Machines mission and this is what Connor had been hinting at and tells H to take the remaining Time displacement devices back to John Connor and Goes back in time to 1984 setting up Film 1. H finds only one remaining Device and destroys the base. It is also revealed the professor survived the attack and he meets with H.

The Two travel to the Resistance Base and meet John Connor. H tells him about the Time displace device and about Kyle Reese sacrifice. He also explains that they have discovered plans of a T-1000 prototype. near the end of the film, the T-1000 is made, it kills the professor, taking his shape as its main form and kills H and uses the device to go back to the year 1994. Connor sends the reprogrammed T-800 that was captured and has been reprogrammed back to save him thus setting up film 2. The final scene is a semi cliff hanger revealing a terminator handing to a large machine the remaining Time portal Device.

    T6

The resistance attack a Skynet base, smashing its defence grid making the entire system vulnerable. As one final attempt to kill John connor, skynet sends its latest terminator model, the TX (Kristanna loken) back through time to kill him as seen in T3. the resistance defeat the terminators of the base then transfer a computer virus into its main hardrive. befrore the virus destroys skynet once and for all it uses a backup power. it transfers its last remaining data(my idea) to a super terminator kept plugged into the computer, a T-X00.SKY.N-01 (what I though up) which manages to escape the exploding base with a time displacement device.

the skynet terminator appears on the battlefield and kills a lot of the soldiers, before escaping with a group of terminators. in persuit John and the resistance persues them to an old factory, there skynet was planning to sent individual terminators through different time periods to have a better chance of killing connor. the resistance arrive and battle the terminators around the factory, while John is on a higher floor battling the skynet terminator, attempting to get back the device. at the end of the battle john is injured severely but finally destroys the skynet terminator when he knocks it off a ledge. it falls and its head gets stuck in a hydraulic press, which crushes it(echoing the terminators fate in t1). Connor and his men take the Time Displacement device. In the Battle to escape a T-800 appears to kill Connor.

It is captured. Back at the resistance base it is reprogrammed by Katherine Brewster and Robert Conner (John’s son) and sent back in time using the last reaming device (therefore ending time travel in the series.) After this A dying man is brought in revealed to be John. He was injured in his escape however and tells his son that he will make his own fate. after his goodbyes to kate, robert and sarah (his daughter)he dies moments later.

once they clear the world of the remaining terminators,
The resistance vow to make sure the new world they create will be one of peace and will always remember john connor as a hero and the saviour of the human race.

SO there you have it, you know i should direct the next two films! ha ha ha.
