It was the Champions League Final on Wednesday night and disappointed Manchester United fans would have watching as their team lost to Barcelona. And according to telegraph.co.uk, there are five main reasons why they lost.
The first apparently was ball retention. Manchester United shouldn’t have let Barcelona get the ball, but their ball retention was described as really poor. United left themselves too exposed. Next was the fact that Nemanja Vidic has been struggling as of late.
Vidic has had a bad six weeks and has not been the same since the Liverpool game. Then it was the fact that United failed to take advantage of a booking picked up by Gerard Pique. Apparently Man U just didn’t target what was Barcelona’s Achilles heel.
Then we had the fact that United’s two superstars Rooney and Ronaldo just didn’t perform to what level was expected. They both played poorly. Then there was the fact that United had a midfield shortcoming compared to Barcelona.
