There have been rumors circulating, that there was going to be a prequel to the 1979 sci-fi classic movie “Alien,” which was directed by Ridley Scott. Well, according to Entertainment Weekly, the rumors are in fact true.
Apparently an origins story for “Alien,” which starred Sigourney Weaver, John Hurt and Tom Skerritt, is being actively developed by Scott. He is producing it but not directing it. He has given it over to first-time filmmaker Carl Rinsch.
Rinsch is better known for his futuristic TV commercials. We’ll have to see what the new movie has in store for us. It will be interesting to see though, if it is as good as the original and who they will cast in the movie.
