US Open 2009: Golf widget for news and schedule

As we mentioned in an earlier post today, it is coming up to the US Golf Open, which this year is being held at the Bethpage State Park Black Course. It is one of the four major golf championships and there will be some big names trying to qualify this year.
The US Open was very first played in 1895, when it was won by an Englishman. Back then it was a 36-hole competition that only lasted a single day. It has been mostly players from the United States that have won since 1911. The current champion is Tiger Woods.
Players that are hoping to qualify for this year’s Open include John Daly, David Duval, Tom Lehman and Spencer Levin, who is working alongside his father Don Levin. You can keep up with all the latest news and event schedules with the US Open widget below.
