Neil Patrick Harris and Emmy Awards 2009

Actor Neil Patrick Harris, who is maybe best known for his role as Doogie Howser in the TV show “Doogie Howser, M.D.” or perhaps in the film “Starship Troopers,” hosted the Tony Awards and the TV Land Awards recently and apparently did a good job.

And apparently, according to latimes.com, he performed so well that he may even get a chance to host the Emmys on September 13th, which is said to be telecast on CBS. But on the other hand, there were reports that CBS talk show host Craig Ferguson was to be the host.

The network apparently picks one of its own to host the award show normally and then they get the TV academy to rubber stamp their choice. In a recent poll, people were asked who they would like to see host and Stephen Colbert and Wanda Sykes came out on top.
