Apparently, Sir Paul McCartney is going to record a score for an upcoming animated film that is based on a children’s story that Paul co-wrote. According to rollingstone.com, the film is called “High in the Clouds” and tells a story of a squirrel that is on a quest to find an animal sanctuary.
It is said that it is being produced by former New Line Cinema founders Michael Lynne and Bob Shaye. The film will be directed by Rob Minkoff, who directed “The Lion King.” Bob and Michael have never focused on animation before, but agreed because Paul is recording the score.
This film will be Paul McCartney’s first heavy involvement in an animated project since the Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine” cartoon in 1968. McCartney has a long history of contributing songs for movies. He penned the title track for the 2001 movie “Vanilla Sky.”
