2009 NHL Awards Show

It was the NHL Awards show last night and according to yaoo.com, it seemed to go without any hitches. It was held in Las Vegas and was apparently opened by Robin Thicke and Chaka Khan, who were both wearing black. There was also a video montage of Dennis Leary to kick it off.

Apart from a couple of occasions, the crowd last night seemed a bit subdued. Whilst Jeremy Roenick was giving his congratulations speech for the Pittsburgh Penguins, it looked as though he stuttered a little. And Vladimir Konstantinov was there to announce Ovechkin as the Pearson winner.

And the winner of the Norris Trophy was announced as Zdeno Chara. Apparently they also did a montage of all the goals of the season. And Pavel Datysuk apparently wasn’t as funny as he has been in the past when he accepted the Selke and the Lady Byng trophies.
