Each year, millions of music fans descend on the Somerset site to attend the Glastonbury Festival and as always, they prepare themselves for bad weather. Well, Glastonbury 2009 is kicking off soon and this year it is the UK band Maximo Park that are opening the event.
There has already been a sunny start to the event, with more than 130,000 music fans waiting for the performances to kick off. But according to bbc.co.uk, weather forecasters have predicted torrential thunderstorms, so fans may have a wet and muddy weekend.

And there has apparently been bad weather there in past years. For example, in 2005, havoc was caused by flash flooding, with tents ending up underwater in some camping areas. There was also heavy rain in 2007, but a new drainage system prevented a repeat of 2005.
