We mentioned in an earlier post that “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” was hitting the big screens on Wednesday night in the US, after the UK saw its release last week. We also mentioned that within a few days of release, the UK had broken box office records.
Well, according to Entertainment Weekly, the US has apparently done the same. The “Transformers 2” movie debuted last night and its midnight showings apparently racked in a record $16 million, which is the most ever for a Wednesday midnight run.

Paramount was looking for bigger with the Michael Bay sequel and I think they have just got that. And it has also been predicted, that records could be made at the weekend with the gross ranging from $126 million up to a massive $160 million for the five days.
