Andy Murray’s driving lessons after Wimbledon 2009

British tennis ace Andy Murray apparently made a pledge last year that he was going to win the Wimbledon 2009 tournament and to also pass his driving test this year. And according to telegraph.co.uk, he has failed to do the driving test side of his goal.

But the 22-year old, who is now through to his third round in Wimbledon, has said that he has planned to start driving lessons once Wimbledon is all over. Murray claims that he has been very busy this year and just hasn’t had the time.

Murray also revealed recently, that he doesn’t normally open any of his fan mail during any tournament. Although he said he did make an exception recently when he was told that a certain letter was from the Queen. The letter was apparently wishing him luck in Wimbledon.

  1. Carl says:

It just goes to show that even sports heroes fall victim to the driving exam however this should not be seen in a negative way, the young man obviously has a lot on his plate but I am sure he will pass soon enough.

To those who are reading this, if you are planning on learning to drive soon, the best bit of advice I can offer is to keep your chin up, always be willing to listen and learn (especially from mistakes), keep your thoughts on the end goal and focus all your attention in each lesson. Do this and you will pass sooner rather than later

  2. This just goes to show that pressure will affect your performance when learning to drive. Andy Murray had a lot on his plate trying to learn to drive and compete at Wimbledon at the same time. So the best thing to do is to take things at your own pace and how you feel most comfortable. Thanks. Walter.
