Andy Murray beats Stanislas Wawrinka: Wimbledon 2009

Andy Murray sure knows how to keep us on the edge of our seats, but thankfully he managed to see of Stanislas Wawrinka and beat him 2-6 6-3 6-3 5-7 6-3. This was his hardest match so far in Wimbledon 2009, as the match lasted three hours 56 minutes.

According to The BBC, this was an historic match, as it was the first Wimbledon floodlit match, great to see that play was not stopped due to lack of light. Murray was not on his best form, and was outplayed in the early part of the match, but he managed to fight his way back and secure his way to the fourth round where he will play Juan Carlos Ferrero.

Andy Murray and Stanislas Wawrinka have met seven times before, with Murray winning 4 of those matches. We now hope that Andy Murray will be able to up his game before his next match, as he certainly had the nation worried.
