Public Enemies 2009: Johnny Depp decidedly unsexy

Actor Johnny Depp, who is probably best known for playing Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, has probably got a huge following of fans. And most of them are likely to be women, who find him not only a fantastic actor, but a sexy guy as well.

But, according to latimes.com, not everyone would agree, as a New York magazine has apparently decided to write an article about Johnny Depp. It claims that Depp’s latest movie “Public Enemies” in which he plays bank robber John Dillinger, proves he is unsexy.

I know women that are Johnny Depp fans and they would certainly disagree on that comment. The magazine was said to have described Depp as a romantic and not s sex god. Are you a Johnny Depp fan and do you agree or disagree with the comment?

I though the movie Public Enemies was great. And Johnny Depp was extraordinarily sexy in the movie. He portrayed John Dilinger; and couldn’t have done it better. I love Johnny Depp; one of the greatest actors in the world! In Pirates of the Carribean, he is very sexy as well; but something about his role in Public Enemies just makes him seem a lot more; I don’t know, edgier maybe? I love Him!!!

I’ve never thought Depp was sexy (I like tall, light-eyed men with broad shoulders) but I found him very attractive in Public Enemies. He played Dillenger with impressive gravity, making a notorious criminal interesting without resorting to cliches.

As the last shot faded on Billie’s tears, a male friend commented, “Idiot. Isn’t it kinda inevitable — getting your heart broken by public enemy #1?” She wasn’t crying because her heart was broken. She was crying because even Dillenger’s hunter/killer couldn’t deny a request from him, because the most interesting human she’ll ever know loved her and is gone forever. She knew their love would be short and tragic, but Depp sold me on why someone would do it anyway, and smile a little through the tears at the memory.

That’s so much hotter, so much more visceral, than a guy who’s been in the gym all day getting prettied up in a trailer and pretending to save the world.
