As we mentioned in an earlier post today, Serena Williams was set to play against Elena Dementieva in the Wimbledon 2009 women’s singles semi-finals. And according to guardian.co.uk, Serena managed to defeat Dementieva and has now earned herself a place in the finals.
And apparently it was quite a tough match for Serena, as she was really pushed to the limit by Elena, but she managed to pull through to her victory. Although, at times it did look as though her nerves and stamina were really getting tested to their limits.

Williams started off the match with an ace, which is her 41st of the championship. But apparently Dementieva fought back with a crashing forehand, which earned her a break point. But Elena couldn’t keep the momentum up and Serena beat her 6-7, 7-5 and 8-6.
