Michael Jackson’s Brother Jermaine Performs Charlie Chaplin’s Smile

We recently spoke about Brooke Shields paying tribute to her great friend, Michael Jackson. During her tribute, Shields mentioned that Jackson’s favorite song was not one of his but one written by Charlie Chaplin called “Smile” and was fitting that his brother Jermaine Jackson would perform it.

Brooke’s speech was the best of the night, and it was so nice for Jermaine to follow it up with the performance with the most passion. What I liked about Jermaine singing, “Smile” is that it was not a performance by a singer, it was one performed by a brother that was truly upset.

LA Times reports that Jermaine held his composure for most of the performance, but you could clearly hear that he was trying his best to hold it together, at one point he almost lost it. We also noticed that Michael’s voice could clearly be heard in Jermaine’s voice.
