Both Lance Armstrong and Alberto Contador rode together while chasing the team down in Stage 8 of the Tour de France today. There has been huge tension between the two teammates, which Luis Leon Sanchez took advantage of, as he won the stage. Armstrong was 3rd on stage 7 and remained third after stage 8.
According to The New York Times, Sanchez timed his final spring perfectly, he sat to the rear wheel of Casar’s wheel until the final 30 meters of the stage, he then put up a huge effort and stormed past him to take the win. Mikel Astarloza was first to reach the Col d’Agnes summit, as a result finished third.

Vladimir Efimkin also put up a great effort by finishing fourth. Despite the huge effort from Luis Leon Sanchez, the overall standing remained the same. Third place Armstrong is just eight seconds behind Nocentini and just two behind Contador.
