Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson: Did they ever meet?

First of all we had Elvis Presley, who was often known as the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. He was a singer, an actor and musical icon that was loved by millions worldwide and still has fans to this day, even though he passed away in 1977 at the age of 42.

Then we had Michael Jackson, who was known as the King of Pop and now, as one of the greatest entertainers to have ever lived. He too is a music icon, loved by millions and a true inspiration to many of the artists we have today.

But according to examiner.com, one question that people could be asking, is did the King of Pop ever meet the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. After all, Michael was married to Elvis’ only daughter Lisa-Marie and although they didn’t marry until 1994, they first met in 1975.

    According to imdb.com – Michael Jackson entry, trivia section – Elvis did meet MJ, and counseled him against the usage of drugs.

    There is, amongst the millions of pictures taken of the man the BBC recently named, in a recent TV special, the most photographed of all muisical celebrities, a single picture of Linda Thompson, then Elvis’ girlfriend, as she accompanies a then 7 year old Lisa Marie to one of the booths at the main showroom at Ceasar’s Palace, in Las Vegas, where the Jackson Five were then the headliners. Whether Elvis accompannied his daughter that night, but did not go into the sjhowroom, is also is not known, inspite of several other stories which point to Presley having met the Jackson Five at an elevator, either at Ceasar’s or at the Las Vegas Hilton, where Presley was the headliner. Of course, both Linda and every other member of the Jackson Five are still alive, so it would be up to them to confirm, or deny this, and any other stories pointing to their having met.

    Yes, Elvis and Michael Jackson did meet in person. That was when Lisa took Elvis with her to one of the Jackson 5 concerts. And that was the time when Elvis said Michael will be a Superstar! Infact, he became much bigger than that.

    Elvis never took Lisa to a J5 concert or talked to him about drugs. FACT they met once in a lift at the Vegas Hilton in 1974, for less than a minute.

    On the Larry King Show, Jermaine stated that all the Jacksons met Elvis in an elevator in tahoe. They were doing a show. It was a very brief conversation. Jermaine stated also that they were in awe of Elvis and at a loss for words. Elvis just asked them: you the jackson boys?

    Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley are absolutely two very different individuals and personalities. Michael Jackson only married Elvis’ daughter, he called Elvis’ Daughter up Lisa-Marie by phone and asked her in marriage! Michael was always in awe of the Presleys! Elvis loved God, sang Gospel songs and honored God! Michael was purely wordly and even denied the existence of God or a higher power on an interview with Oprah Winfrey!

    For 40 years, I have been, and still am, an admirer of Michael Jackson and The Jackson Family. However, I have balanced and realistic views about the entertainment industry, and it's celebrites. I am not writing this comment to spew off about how great Elvis or Michael were. Some fans are just down right rude, and insane, and not worth the energy to converse with. You need to stop and think about what you are saying…figure it out. Remember, ALL celebrities are human beings FIRST, everything else is superficial. You do not need to defend or criticize celebrities, dead or alive. Let them be, they do not answer to us, nor we to them. They chose a life of entertaining people, let them do so. Whatever happens in their private life is their business, unless they become a threat to themselves or the public. Some people may get away with something, but… as always, it eventually catches up to them… emotionally, mentally, and/or physically. Lastly, people die everyday, famous and or… with reason or not. Rest in peace, to all that have passed.
