Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan aka The Green Lantern

Reports came in recently that singer Justin Timberlake was amongst the contenders for the role of “The Green Lantern” in the movie of the same name. The other contenders were said to be Jared Leto, Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper.

And according to slashfilm.com, it was Ryan Reynolds who was chosen for the role over the others. Ryan, who can be seen currently in the movie “The Proposal,” is set to play Hal Jordan aka The Green Lantern, although the deal isn’t quite finalized.

Warner Bros is apparently hoping that shooting of “The Green Lantern’” movie will begin in January 2010 and are hoping for a June 2011 release date. So do you think that they have made the right decision with giving Ryan Reynolds the role?

    HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I’ve been collecting GL comics for the last 15yrs. It has been my favorite read. But now this ruins it for me. I’m going to cancel my subscription a.s.a.p. All these guys are wrong. My top picks were Worthington,Pine,and Gosling. Not sure how they got here but I wont see that movie.

    Really great news. Hal Jordan is a test pilot, he is tough but edgy and the same time. Ryan Reynold has that qualities, is a good actor and he has already the superhero kind of body. I was worried about the other options, meaning Justin Timberlake?
