Following on from our post on the Tour de France Stage 9 results on Sunday, the riders had a day off yesterday for some well earned rest. The Tour de France Stage 10 results saw Mark Cavendish take the win, in doing so took his third win of Tour de France 2009.
According to The Guardian, Cavendish who was with his Team Columbia-HTC teammates broke away with 750m to go, he was then challenged by a late surging Thor Hushovd from Norway but managed to hold him off, Hushovd came in second with Tyler Farrar coming home third.

The overall standings saw no change; Rinaldo Nocentini from Italy retained the Yellow Jersey. Mark Cavendish is now only six points behind Hushovd, he holds the green Jersey with 147 points. Will there be any change in the standing after Stage 11 has been completed, we will find out around this time tomorrow.
