Carl Crawford has been given the Ted Williams All-Star MVP award; this was the 80th All-Star Game. This is the first time that the award has been won by a man who did not even score a run; he did not even drive in a run.
Crawford did manage to take away a big run; this is what allowed the American League to win 4-3 to the National League at Busch Stadium. MLB.com reports that the score had been tied at 3 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Jonathan Papelbon was on the mound and Brad Hawpe then threw the first pitch, he hit the ball at 94mph and it went to the left field.

Many expected the ball to go out, but Crawford leapt up and with his glove stretched out, high over the wall and caught the ball the crowd was shocked. This was certainly a great catch and it was this that helped him win the Most Valuable Player Award of the 80th All-Star Game, which was held on Tuesday.
