The Affliction: Trilogy event is due to take place next Saturday 1st August and the headliner of the night was going to be Josh Barnett against Fedor Emelianenko. But according to mmafrenzy.com, that is not going to happen now as Josh Barnett has been pulled out.
This news came after the mixed martial arts fighter was tested positive on a pre-fight drug screening. Affliction’s Tom Atencio confirmed that Barnett was tested positive for a banned substance, although no details were given as to what substance it actually was.
Although Barnett has been pulled from the event, it is still expected to take place. Attencio declined to give comments on who will replace Barnett to take on Emelianenko, but rumors say it could be Ricardo Arona, Brett Rogers, Bobby Lashley or Vitor Belfort.
