The ever so popular online multiplayer game “World of Warcraft,” has millions of fans worldwide and now, it appears that it is to be made into a movie. And according to nytimes.com, Sam Raimi, who is the director of the “Spider-Man” movies, has agreed to direct the film.
Apparently Legendary Pictures and Warner Brothers have teamed up for the movie, which is based on the online game and its fantasy universe. World of Warcraft has been described as the most-heavily played game on the Internet and has around 11 million monthly subscribers.
Details have not yet been released on when production of the movie will begin, but it will have to be when Mr. Raimi finishes working on “Spider-Man 4.” Reports also say that Charles Roven, who was a producer of “The Dark Knight,” will be working amongst the producers.
