Alberto Contador who came in second in stage 17 yesterday has won stage 18 of the 2009 Tour de France. Many believe that Alberto is a champion in waiting and these results over the past couple of days have certainly helped him on his way to becoming a winner.
This is Alberto Contador’s second win in the 2009 Tour de France; as a result, he has certainly confirmed that he will be wearing a yellow jersey when he stands on the podium later this week. Stage 18 took the riders around Annecy; luckily for them the stage was mostly flat.

BBC News reports that Bradley Wiggins has given himself a great shot at a place on the podium finish of the Tour de France 2009. The British rider made gains on his rivals, moving from sixth to fourth. He now lies just 11 seconds behind third place man Lance Armstrong.
