Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy wedding on hold

Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have had to put their wedding plans on hold, as a new season of Dancing with the Stars is coming up, as well as a Broadway show well underway. The couple who met while appearing on DWTS announced their engagement back in December 2008; they have said that they will now wait until next summer to marry.

Chmerkovskiy has been telling People that they have not been planning the wedding as they have been working 14 hours days. Earlier in the month, the couple has said that they were moving forward with the wedding, they did add that the process was slow.

Both Chmerkovskiy and Smirnoff have a number of commitments that are keeping them busy, leaving no time to plan for a wedding. Their Broadway show “Burn the Floor” will last up until August 16. The couple are also readying themselves for the next season of Dancing with the Stars, which starts on September 21.
