Yesterday saw the streets of San Francisco lined with runners, as the 2009 San Francisco Marathon took place, which has been run annually since 1977. The race includes the full marathon, 2 half marathons and a 5k event.
According to inquisitr.com, there were over 20,000 runners that entered into this year’s race, with many of the top runners getting in some good practice, for the international marathon that is to take place in Berlin in August.

It was 28-year old Texan Andrew Cook and 30-year old Japanese runner Yoko Shibui that took the line honors in yesterday’s race. Andrew finished the race in 2:26:32 and Yoko managed it in 2:46:34.
