Yesterday saw the end of the 2009 Tour de France and what a Tour it has certainly been. And according to stltoday.com, it was Astana’s Alberto Contador, Saxo Bank’s Andy Schleck and seven-time winner Lance Armstrong, who took to the winner’s podium.
The Astana team did have hopes of taking the entire podium, but settled for both Contador and Armstrong taking two spots. The Saxo Bank team spent the first six days of the race in the yellow thanks to Fabian Cancellara, but Andy Schleck took over the podium position.

Garmin team also did really well in the race, with British rider Bradley Wiggins surprising the fans and taking a top 10 position. Team Columbia also did extremely well, with another British rider Mark Cavendish getting his sixth stage win in Paris.
