Katie Holmes escapes car battery explosion

American actress Katie Holmes, who is well known for starring in the popular series “Dawson’s Creek” and movies such as “Phone Booth” and “Batman Begins,” was very lucky not to have been injured on her Melbourne film set.

According to straitstimes.com, the incident in which a car battery exploded and caught on fire, happened during weekend filming of a scene from her Katie’s new movie “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark,” which is due for release in 2011.

Holmes, who is also the wife of actor Tom Cruise, managed to avoid injury in the incident, which was not part of the scene. Katie is currently living in Melbourne with her husband Tom and daughter Suri, whilst she is filming for the movie.
