Venus and Serena Williams advance in Bank of the West Classic tournament

The Bank of the West Classic tennis tournament has started recently, which is being held in Stanford, California. And according to cnn.com, sisters Venus and Serena Williams have both made it through to the second round of the competition.

This is apparently their first tournament since they were up against each other in the Wimbledon 2009 final earlier this month. Venus Williams reportedly just cruised through her opening match in the Bank of the West Classic, with 6-2 and 6-3.

Although it wasn’t quite the same for top seed and Wimbledon champion Serena, as she was made to work hard in her match against China’s Li Na. She finally won though with 6-3 and 7-6 and now progresses to the next round.
