Despite the fact that BMW has announced their withdrawal from Formula 1 recently, world motorsport chief Max Mosley, has stated that he remains confident about the future of the sport. According to bbc.co.uk, BMW have joined Honda in withdrawing from the 2010 competition.
BMW, whose team has struggled this year, has reportedly withdrawn for financial reasons. Mosley now claims that they have three new teams and several more that are keen to come in. He also claims that if any more manufacturers pull out, they have people to replace them.
Mosley said it is to be expected in the current financial climate and feels that Formula 1 will still be healthy with or without the manufacturers. He also said he has no reason to expect any more teams to quit, but isn’t being too complacent on the matter.
