I have just watched episode 13 of Defying Gravity on BBC 2 and I then went on line and found out that the series had been axed in the US. I was very sorry about this since it was really getting somewhere interesting. Overall it was an excellent series which started slowly which obviously makes it difficult for US audiences. However, I hope that someone will reconsider and provide another series particularly since it was partially funded by the BBC.

Just when the BBC comes up with a sci-fi drama that is accessible for the non sci-fi fan, it gets cancelled. I know this is an ABC show so it has to appeal to American critics concerned with the average American with an IQ that equals there shoe size. But for god sake cant they tell that this is more interesting and compelling than ANY of the soap shows currently being aired on British TV.

Hooked.
I am never sure with pilots but after watching just a few shows I am enthralled.
I see past the technical flaws and appreciate the human factor.
It reminds me of Battlestar in the way that it is focusing on the human condition.
The music is superb. This fifth episode really stunned me. I find that when I watch the first half of the show I begin to suspect that it will be some kind of gap filler show that just bridges one show to the next but by the end of the show I am always stunned.
I think that if you have had a full life and some tragedy or loss of your own, that this show will affect you deeply. If not, well, I hope you find what you are looking for. This show holds a lot of promise in my eyes. I hope the writers don’t drop the ball.

I thought this show was great, however, I fear this is going to go the way of “Surface”. I was hooked the minute the 2 astronauts where left behind on Mars. Hopefully, the critics and the network give this a chance so we can see where they are going with this!

Let’s Dumb them down!

If the show is anything like the pilot. I suggest you hire
Denis Leary as the main writer. Least he will not create such dribble. Yak Yak Yak Yak Yak Yak Yak. Put me to sleep. At least Denis can make a soap funny and exciting at the same time. Let me understand between a hundred comerical breaks during the pilot and then Yak Yak Yak. Where is the entertainment. Kick all the soap writers off the show and hire some that can write about space entertainment not crappy love triangles that are held in space.

Just watched the pilot last night…didn’t like it at all. Me and my boyfriend kept a running commentary on how bad it was during the entire show. Bad writing. Bad acting. Bad everything. So many plot holes. Too unbelievable – even for near future. The space industry should be protesting how horribly this show is portraying the industry. Ron Livingston should run away from this show – hopefully he won’t be stuck in space with those stupid cadets.

I lovd the pilot and was hooked right from the start.

I think critics and viewers need to give this series a chance to prove itself.

I am looking forward to the next episode.

Interesting show. I liked it and will watch a few episodes to see how it goes. I like the idea of ‘Grey’s Anatomy in space’. I wish it were on a cable network though, as it seems to be a niche type show that will not succeed on network television. It wish it luck though. Ron Livingston is awesome and Laura Harris … so fine.

I thought the show looks pretty good, however they made a few technical errors. I’m sure it will be ironed out eventually, but as an example, in the ‘confessional’ at the end of episode one- he tosses a ball. Earlier in the episode they had explained that there is no gravity on the ship unless the item is equipped with ‘anti-gravity nanites’. You can argue that maybe even their non-jumpsuit attire is equipped with these so that they stay put on their chairs, but the baseball is not.

I LOVED this pilot! I thought it was well paced, well writen, and well acted. Ron Livingston is perfect in this role. I hope the show gets picked up and runs for a long long time. I’ve already told all my friends to go on hulu and watch the episode to catch up.
