Dial Idol Explained

With season 8 of “American Idol” over and season 9 on its way sometime, some people might be interested in DialIdol. What is that then, I see many of you asking. Well, it’s a system that uses your modem to speed dial your votes for your favorite Idols.

But that isn’t just what it does. DialIdol also measures a busy signal, to determine which Idols are getting the most votes. And judging by the results, it can automatically direct your votes to one of your favorites, but not necessarily your top favorite.

And it also predicts who will be voted off each week, judging by the results of who is getting the most votes and who’s getting the least. So every time the DialIdol system makes a call, it records whether there is a busy signal or not and if not, it assumes that call as a vote.

Everyone’s results are then submitted back to the DialIdol.com servers, which totals them all up. So the more people that use DialIdol, the more data they will have. They can then determine who America is voting for and by measuring the busy signal, predict who is winning and losing.
