The new action figure based movie “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” hit the big screens at the weekend and according to nydailynews.com, it dominated the weekend box office, after reportedly raking in $56.2 million just in North America.
It was also said, that “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,” which stars Dennis Quaid, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans and Sienna Miller, raked in an amazing $100.3 million worldwide. And apparently, the movie proved quite popular in Russia.

The movie topped all its rivals, with “Julie & Julia,” which stars Meryl Streep, opening at a solid number two, raking in an overall $20.1 million. And third place at the weekend box office, was animated movie “G-Force,” after earning $9.8 million.
