Usain Bolt to Repeat Beijing Double at World Championships

Fresh from his win in the 100m at the World Championships, Jamaica’s Usain Bolt has made it through to the 200m semi-finals. The sprinter is now on course to repeat his sprint double, which he achieved at the Beijing Olympics’ last summer.

Usain Bolt won his second-round heat in 20.42 seconds; this win did not look as easy as it did last summer. He looked very tired in the morning heat, and struggled to up his pace in the second. He had to make certain that he qualified first, with a time of 20.70, which he did.

The second round he looked more relaxed, but it still seemed an effort for him, leaving it to the last minute to sprint to the finish. He looked more out of breath this time than he did at the Beijing Olympics.

According to BBC News, Usain Bolt has said that he is not in as good of a shape as he was last summer, but he hopes with a good night’s sleep will make him ok for the 200m semi-finals.
