It looks like good news is in store for Texas Rangers fans. According to Reuters, the team announced on the website today, that they have acquired 14-times All-Star catcher Ivan Rodriguez from the Houston Astros, to make a push for the postseason.
Apparently, 37-year old Rodriguez, who is nicknamed “Pudge” and is a 13-time Gold Glove winner, played for the Rangers back in 1991 until 2002, when he left and became a free agent. He commented on the Rangers website, saying he feels great.

He also stated that it is nice to be back where he started. Club President Nolan Ryan said they are excited to have Rodriguez, who has a .299 batting average and said that he will bring experience to the team, as he is a veteran player.
