For many science-fiction fans, this year was set to be a promising year. After all, this was the year that James Cameron, was to resurface and bring with him a great new movie called “Avatar.” It was said, that the movie will take viewers into another culture and even another world.
And according to slashfilm.com, this year is definitely the year for all the science-fiction nerds out there. Not only is there James Cameron’s “Avatar,” but now Neill Blomkamp’s “District 9” has arrived too. And some say that the “District 9” movie could just do it better.
That can’t be bad considering “District 9” probably had a fraction of the “Avatar” budget to go by. Although there are distinct and obvious differences, the two movies are quite similar. Could it be that “District 9” has stolen the thunder from James Cameron’s “Avatar?”
