Midnight Sun Release Date Rumors: 5th Twilight movie

The “Twilight” sequel “New Moon” hasn’t even opened in movie theaters yet, and there are already rumors of a 5th installment in the “Twilight” franchise. According to thehothits.com, the rumors were started off, when new cast member BooBoo Stewart, kind of hinted that there could be a fifth movie.

And the rumors suggest that the fifth movie, could possibly come from the unpublished and as far as we know, the unfinished Stephanie Meyer book “Midnight Sun.” But according to nydailynews.com, Summit Entertainment has said the rumor of a fifth movie isn’t true.

The studio apparently said that BooBoo Stewart, who has recently joined the cast, was speaking out of turn, when he suggested a 5th film. The Stephanie Meyer book series, on which the movies are based, only go up to four titles. So that would mean splitting a book in two, or creating a new story.

A rep for Summit, said that while they appreciate the young actor’s enthusiasm for the franchise, his comments on the number of movies were unfortunately inaccurate. But there has also been rumors on when the “Midnight Sun” book will be released as well, with some saying this year and some saying next.

    Holy Cow!!! I just read the first chapter of Midnight Sun posted by Stephanie Meyer on her website!!! A-mazing! and though I fight the urge to drop everything and revert to teenage groupie- I NEED THAT BOOK!!! ;o)

    it would be kinda silly to think that they will make a movie based on Midnight Sun, because it’s the same story than Twilight but from Edward’s point of view… so what, they’re repeating the movie adding some extra scenes of what Edward sees instead of Bella? I don’t think so!

    Midnight Sun wouldn’t be made into a movie because it pretty much already is a movie! Midnight Sun is pretty much Twilight only through Edwards story and what he is thinking.

    From what I have heard they where gonna make breaking dawn into 2 seperate movies. But a movie base on midnight sun would be kinda silly I would rather her just finish the book. She has upto chapter 12 up. Sooo worth the read! It leaves you wanting more

    ok even though mid night sun ispretty much the first movie,I still think they should do a movie on edwards perspective because it would have more indept info on him his history his family and what everyone was thinking through his thoughts it would be slightly different and it would be awesome i like midnight sun better than twilight

    I think a movie throught Edwards eyes would be great I would so watch that and I know lots of people who would agree. It would be interesting, we didn’t get to see and know alot of what Edward was thinking or feeling in the movie.

    To put it simply……… I WANT THAT FIFTH BOOK….. and i really hope that i don’t have to wait til next year to get it. I like the idea of “Breaking Dawn” being split into two films, since it’s the longest of all the novels…. But a film version of “Midnight Sun” may not work. Clearly wouldn’t stop me from watching it though!!!!!!

    Stephanie, I had a hard time even reading Midnight Sun because of had happened, but I guess in Life….things happen! Don’t let it get you down….You are a terrific witter all the Twilight Series as well as The Host were wonderfull! You have a great talent & I absolutly love your work! Please keep it up!!     I really really wish she will finish midnight sun soon i think it will be one of her best book. I think its great from Edwards view point.But I’m not so sure how a movie would turn out,but at least that means that she will have to finish it sooner

    Just love the series. All the characters feel so “Real”, I feel as if I know them. I to have read all of Midnight Sun that she has posted on her website. I believe it is equally as good as Twilight if not better. Please finish the book but not only that make a book 6. Maybe with showing Nessie and Jacob later on, what happens with the Volturi and of course more of Bella and EDWARD!!!

    I loved the read. I was totally encaptured in Edwards thoughts. He had me hanging on the see what he was going through and his anguish. I liked it better than Bellas perspective really. I had a better understanding of Edward and why he did what he did by leaving. It all makes sense. She did a great job in writing this book, it ties it all together perfectly.

    ahh! i got on here thinking this was the release date for midnight sun the book! i thought she finished it! now im depressed! i have never reverted to teenage obsession like i have over this series! we have a book club at work for all the night shift nurses and we are all hooked! so far what stephanie meyer has done with midnight sun is amazing! i hope she finishes it! it would be the highlight of my reading year! agreed that a movie may not be such a great idea since it is the same book/movie just told from a different perspective. but i would still watch it! along with the rest of the night shift at the hospital! please stephanie! give us something else to discuss! we love your work!

    After reading all the books, I feel like the Cullens are part of my immediate family, I would read as many as you write, it was depressing to know I had finished the books, I felt like my family had left and I wouldnt see them anymore, please keep writing

    I feel like I’m late to the “Twilight” party, but I blew through all 4 books last week. I feel like many others, I need and want more! I feel really bad for Stephenie, that some people go too far. I hope so badly that she’ll finish Midnight Sun. I started reading the link on her site last night and am about 1/2 way through. So interesting, and so clever how she dovetails the Bella and Edward perspective.

    Stephenie – if you’re reading this, please finish. Please see this as the compliment that others probably mean it to be but can’t articulate that. The story you’ve crafted feels so real…I hope this isn’t the end!

    I hate to read, but was told I HAD to read the Twilight Saga. I caved and was hooked from the very first chapter. I just finished reading all the books, including the draft of Midnight Sun. I would love to see Stephanie finish the draft. I loved seeing things from Edwards perspective, but it definitely left me wanting more. I think a 5th movie (and 6th book)would be great, but of life beyond “The End”. The life of Renesmee and Jacob, along with all the other characters of course, but from their perspective. I would continue reading whatever Stephanie would decide to right.

    I too was only new to the whole Twilight thing and i am pleased that i left it till now cause i was able to read book after book without waiting for them to be released. Then getting a tast of Midnight Sun – o m g what a book. What an author!! To have the ability to write it from another persons point of view takes pure talent. I would read something and things would all fall into place – it gives you the complete picture which leaves you completely spell bound.
    I simpily can not get enough of this amazing love story – so i am reading them all again.
    One thing that does dissapoint me is when they create a movie from a book and they change things. I prey that they dont change too much in New Moon – the books are perfect!
    PLEASE FINISH MIDNIGHT SUN!!

    Well…i dont think they can make a movie for Midnight Sun…they can split Breaking Dawn into two movies, but not a movie for midnight sun. i loved midnight sun i as a writer am terribly mad that someone would go and publish her unfinished work like that. Sometimes people do not get that when u write something ur emotions rule how the plot and ur characters will turn out, and in a draft we feel as tho its flawed and needs to be fixed alot. i want it to be a book tho…ive always been curious as to what edward was thinking. especially during the later books. it would be very great.

    I really hope Meyer writes the last book. I have vowed not to read the leaked chapters, I would feel so guilty!
    So I am so looking forward to when the book comes out – Twilight – from Edward’s point of view? – Fantastic!!

    Hi Stephenie, I feel like i’m too late for twilight, i just read it last month, but i love it! It’s one of the greatest books in the history! Stephenie, you’re ONE of the GREATEST authors in HISTORY! I’m really bummed to hear some rumours that you’re not gonna finish Midnight Sun. It would be a real shame. I know that someone was stupid and selfish to violate your right, but you know that there are millions of fans who didn’t. We are waiting very anxiously for midnight sun to be released. Please Stephenie, please finish it. Twilight saga left me addicted and i’m sure i’m not the only one out there.

    Midnight Sun is a really great perspective, but it would be pointless to make it a movie. I’ve also heard that Breaking Dawn is going to be split into two movies. I mean that’s alot of info to cram into one movie. Stephenie herself has said that she is not done writing about everyone’s stories. Maybe there will be more publications dealing with the other Cullens or the Volturi. All I know is that we can always expect great things from Stephenie. I really wish she would turn out a new book. I know she’s really busy with the movies right now though, so give her time. She’ll amaze us again.

    They should make Midnight Sun into a movie because Twilight the movie sucked. It is a rare chance to remake something bad into something magnificent. If they do turn it into a movie they had better not bring back Hardwicke to direct. She so brutally massacred the movie she shouldn’t be allowed to work at directing again.

    I never cared before who directed what until I read the series then saw the butchered film. Seriously if you people liked that crap then you are not truly Twilight Saga fans.

    New Moon looks extremely promising with Weitz as director. The best move Summit could have made was tossing hardwicke aside.

    After reading midnight sun a few months ago, i really do think a movie can definately be done. It could be Twilight but back to the beginning. It will show the Cullens when they were still human and how they became vampires. It can focus mainly on Edwards lonely life before Bella and also before becoming a vegetarian. Then it can go into when he saw Bella for the first time and take it from there. It can totally be done and If done correctly will make a great movie. It will be like when they did Xman movie and Halloween that shows how it all started. I say they go for it. And as far as the release of Midnight Sun, I heard from a source that it will be released on August of 2010. Lets hope its true :)

    She either finishes the book or doesn’t – shes keeping fans on tender hooks for what reason? So what if it was published ‘illegally’, what, so that has stopped her from continuing? Twilight fans have made her super rich so its about time to stop the childish tantrums and finished the bloody book.

    Bet she was the one who ‘illegally’ published the draft, to see what the public reaction would be. Sad so sad

    Omg I think they really should finish the midnight sun book…I love them…and I also think that it would be cool for them to make the movie…actually I think it would be awesome if stephanie mayer make the same four books but with Edward’s point of view!!! And it would be cool to see how he acted when he thought bella died and he went to the volturi…omg stephanie plz plz plz finished midnight sun as soon as possible…I can’t wait for it to come out…and come on make the other three books too with his point of view…and the movies too…they’ll be like the same but way badass with Edward’s point of view!!!     I think some people have gotta quit this veiw point of twilight & midnight sun being the same . Ive read the draft & its magic , & the story is almost completly different .
    It leaves an amazing insight into edward & his mind & HIS thoughts .
    Stephanie must be feeling incredible pressure , & thats just because she is truly AMAZING phwoaaar . I just finished reading it about 5 mins ago from on her website , & it left me hungry for moree :P

    ummm @ taylor , breaking dawn is after eclipse , not midnight sun . midnight sun is simply a companion to twilight .
    & i think that the book would come before the movieeee . .

    Okay, the movie of Midnight Sun would be “okay” if it had come out before New Moon. I love the POV and it’s a great story line. I think if Stephenie did continue the story, it should be about Renesmee and Jacob, and how Bella and Edward deal with the whole thing. Remember that Bella freaked when she first realized what happened. I also think the idea about writing how all the Cullens got changed would be cool too. Another site says that Midnight Sun will be release in August ’10. We shall see. Stephenie hasn’t posted anything on her site about that yet (that I have seen) so I don’t really see that happening. I would definitely love for it to though. TEAM EDWARD!

    I also am a little late in getting into Twilight. My mum lent me all the books at the beginning of December and i finished them all yesterday!!! I could not put them down, i have never felt so emotional about a book in my life. I read them so quick that i have now started again in case I missed something and what with sky playing Twilight as well I am desperate for more!!! Roll on the new book we all need it.

    i would be just greatful of any book that has edward in it Lol would be brill if/when midnight sun comes out, i have read all of stephanies books even the host, so give her a break, i want this book just as quickly as anyone else that is hook on this story, iam just a big vampire novel fan, with any story line.

    thank you steph for another great novel. i would like to know more about just edward and bella on their new life style being together, and how they both cope while having renesmee, with out bloody jacob trying to take control all the time.

    midnight does not have a realse date yet or so i heard, but there are the first 12 chapters of one of her drafts on stepheniemeyer.com and its great. i think i read it 5 times its so good and its only one of her drafts. i cant wait til she finishes the book. i want to know twilight from edwards point of view so much, its a lot different the twilight the are tons of new parts, and you get a better feeling for edwards character… but like i said i have no clue when midnight sun will be finished, or even if it’s going to finished at all. but even if she doesnt publish the book i hope she at least puts the finished product online so everyone can read it.

    OMG….they are the best booke EVER!!!!! I was late with Twilight but decided to watch the film first before the books. I was hooked from the first word. I LOVE EDWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got all 4 books on Thursday and had finished them all by Saturday, i really and truly could not put them down! and i have a 3 year old so it was very hard! I read the 12 chapters of midnight sun last night and have to say…AMAZING! it was lovely to hear what Edward was thinking and all his anguish over Bella. I feel like i know these people and the Cullens are a part of my family!
    PLease finish Midnight sun, what a shame someone spoilt it for all of the true Twilight fans!!!!!!

    A friend told me to read the twilight saga on December 16th 2009 it was the best thing to happen to me in a long time. I read all 4 books in 2 days, now i have read the spoiler for Midnight Sun to look at it through Edwards perspective is eye opening. When this book is released on sale i will be waiting at the book shop doors!!! on a personal point of view i have spoken to hundreds of women from 14 to 92 years of age and these books give them all great joy in an otherwise boring life. Way to go Stephenie you brighten up so many lives!!!

    what u think about a book about Leah. her story with sam, and she the only female wolf in history. what a read. think book 4 has opened the door for a new love triangle with nessie. but hopfully in this story jake does get the girl. hope midnightsun out soon. think it better than twilight. u really get to know all the characters, just look at jess what a bitch, looking forward 2 the short second life of bree tanner.
