US Open 2009: Roger Federer and Kim Clijsters victories

The 2009 US Open kicked off yesterday and both Kim Clijsters and the world’s number 1 Roger Federer, took victories in their opening games. And it seems they both have something in common, it is both their first Major, since producing offspring.

But according to dailymail.co.uk, both Clijsters and Federer played extremely well in their opening matches and have both advanced to the second round. This just goes to prove, that neither of them have let parenthood affect their game in any way.

Clijsters seemed to just ease past her opponent Viktoriya Kutuzova, with 6-1 and 6-1 in only 54 minutes. And Federer, who has become a father of twin girls recently, did the same and defeated American wildcard Devin Britton, with 6-1, 6-3 and 7-5.
