Spanish tennis ace Rafael Nadal, proved he was back to his fitness level yesterday, when he kicked off his US Open game against Richard Gasquet. Nadal had to pull out of Wimbledon earlier this year, due to him suffering from tendinitis in both of his knees.
And after a ten week break, Nadal was certainly back on top form in yesterday’s game. Fans were waiting, as he took to the court at Arthur Ashe Stadium, just to see what kind of form he was in. And as he played, all the eyes were on him.

It didn’t take him long though to get back into his stride, claiming victory in his match with 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3, without having to face a single break point. According to femalefirst.co.uk, Rafael now advances to the second round, where he will be up against Nicolas Kiefer.
