There was another fantastic game played today in the 2009 US Tennis Open and this time it was between Kateryna Bondarenko and Gisela Dulko. And according to telegraph.co.uk, Bondarenko blanked Dulko 6-0,6-0 and now advances to the quarter-finals.
And it only took the 52nd-ranked Ukrainian player 47 minutes, to rout the 40th-ranked South American Dulko. Bondarenko, who is apparently coached by her parents, is now hoping to get a semi-final spot, against the winner of a later match between Petra Kvitova and Yanina Wickmayer.
In the second set, Bondarenko was in a 4-0 lead. She then saved a break point in the fifth game, with a backhand volley winner. She will now pass her previous career high of 37th in the rankings, passing her sister for the top family honors since 2006.
