Many thought that Great Britain’s Andy Murray would once again go all the way to the final of the U.S Open, but it wasn’t the case as he was outplayed by Marin Cilic, losing 5-7, 2-6, 2-6.

Cilic, who is the world number 17, was bound to be nervous coming into a match against the in-form Murray, but he showed no signs of it as he focused on his own game, drawing Murray into plenty of mistakes, prompting the usual bouts of frustration from the Scot.
Its another case of, ‘maybe next time’ for Murray, who continues his quest for a first Grand Slam title. Cilic meanwhile, progresses into the quarter finals.
