Buster Posey may well have beaten Madison Bumgarner to the major leagues by just 8 days, but it was Bumgarner, who is the youngest player in the major leagues, that beat Posey to the field on his first day with the San Francisco Giants.
According to mercurynews.com, Posey wasn’t bearing any grudges for Bumgarner, who was caught by Posey for five starts at Class A San Jose in April and May. Posey said that he is really excited for Madison, as he has a great personality.

The two players began the year as the two top prospects in the Giants’ organization. But apparently, they then split, after Bumgarner, who was just 19-years old at the time, was promoted to Double-A Connecticut, but Posey soon bypassed him to Triple-A.
