Yesterday saw the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying match take place between the U.S and Trinidad and Tobago. And according to nytimes.com, the United States team, did exactly what they wanted to, and defeated Trinidad and Tobago 1-0.
They have now pocketed another 3 points, on a march that’s appears very likely to end in South Africa, for next year’s World Cup. In the first 20 minutes of play, the US team had five corner kicks, but nothing came out of them.

Then midfielder Ricardo Clark connected with a swerving shot from 30 yards out midway, for the only goal of the match. It was a pass from Landon Donovan and that goal in the second half that saved the game for the US team.
