Beyonce VMA 2009: Performance calls out to ‘Single Ladies’

As most of you may know, it was the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards last night and one performance that might just have outshone the rest, was Beyonce’s. The singer performed both “Sweet Dreams” and “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).”

According to mtv.com, she began her performance, with a drum-led remix of her latest single “Sweet Dream,” wearing a sparkly leotard and one silver glove. She then bounced into “Single Ladies,” initially with just two backing dancers.

All of a sudden, the lights dimmed, and Beyonce said “now wait.” When the lights came back up, there appeared to be an army of single ladies on the stage. By the end of the song, Beyonce had all of the Radio City Music Hall standing.

What she did her was just take out all the unnecessary props and show straight skill. BACK in the day we used the best video, imagination, to get lost in, and this video does that. You listen to the words purely in this form. No distractions and the dancing was nice as well. Her artistry was only displayed. We don’t want to watch a movie, this is a music video! Reminds me of Michael Jackson’s Rock with you video.
