Patrick Swayze’s Movies: Appreciating his film career

I was very saddened by the recent news that Patrick Swayze had died. To me, he was one of the best actors ever and the movie “Dirty Dancing,” which shot both him and Jennifer Grey to stardom, is one of my all time favorite movies.

According to people.com, Patrick starred in nearly three dozen movies, in more than three decades. His most memorable roles of them all, have to be in the 1987 movie “Dirty Dancing” and the 1990’s film “Ghost,” with Demi Moore.

He certainly made a few hearts flutter as the sexy dance instructor in “Dirty Dancing.” And in “Ghost,” he returned from the dead to protect his widow, played by Demi Moore. Who can ever forget that pottery wheel scene?

He starred in many other films throughout his career. This includes the comedy film “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar,” in which he played a New York drag queen, alongside John Leguizamo and Wesley Snipes.
