Whitney Houston interview with Oprah and decline in ratings

We mentioned in an earlier post that the new series of The Oprah Winfrey show had started, and the chat show queen’s first guest was Whitney Houston. The interview was done over two shows, but it is not the interview that has been getting the most media attention, it is the shows decline in ratings.

The interview with the troubled singer discussed a number of different topics, such as her drug abuse, her marriage to Bobby Brown and how she has destroyed her great asset, her voice. It seemed that no topic was out of bounds, maybe Houston should have turned the tables and spoke about the decline in the show’s ratings.

Whitney Houston interview with Oprah and decline in ratings

This interview is the first of many high profile interviews, all of which are hoped to help push the ratings higher. We have to wonder if this decline will continue, or these upcoming high profile interviews will help to put the queen of chat back on top.

If you head over to Chicago Sun Times, they are taking a closer look at Oprah’s decline in ratings.

If you think that politics played a part in a slippery slope for Oprah, then read more on that issue here.

Are you aware that in South Florida the 1st interview was not shown due to the Finals of the tennis match?

  • Robin

Exactly. I don’t know where these ratings came from. The show did not air until 1:38am Tuesday morning due to the men’s US Open!!! So stop hating!!! Ratings were not available!!!

Maybe it’s because Oprah is on everything you see….satellite radio, tv, Oprah magazines, Oprah’s book club, etc. It’s too much – and I actually LIKE Oprah!
