NCAA President Myles Brand passes away after cancer battle

NCAA President Myles Brand has sadly passed away aged 67, after his fight with pancreatic cancer. Myles was the former Indiana University president, who we know as the person who fired basketball coach Bob Knight. As we know, Patrick Swayze also died this week of pancreatic cancer.

Brand was a man who was looking for change, and he did just that when he was the president of college sports’ largest governing body. How he did this was simple, he changed people’s perception that college sports game wins supersede academics.

According to Freep.com, Brand had shared the news that he was battling cancer back in January, but this did not stop him from his work as NCAA President. NCAA is yet to announce a successor for Myles Brand, but one thing is certain, he will never be replaced.
