Tom Welling have been talking to TV guide, where he explains that his character Clark Kent, will be going through some major changes in Smallville Season 9. Over the years, Clark has been reluctant to be who he is meant to be, but he finally asks Jor-El to start training him.
Smallville producers have been telling us that the new season will be much darker than before; Welling explains that Clark has “lost faith in his role with humanity.” He also added, “I think he’s lost faith in himself and what he thought he was supposed to do.”
Welling also discussed how he has committed to season 10 of Smallville also, he only agreed to this once he learnt what the storyline was going to be. Tom has been worried in the past that the popularity of the show would dwindle, but he said that there is no fear of that this season, saying, “If anything, we’ve re-energized it.”
